Abstract:The studied area locates in Qimatag mountain in Ruoqiang County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Stromatolite of Tungussia cf. nodosa Semikhatov and Baicalia lacera Semikhatov were discovered, at first time, in Langyashan Formation of Jixian System that has been named in this area till now. Their host-rock is fleshcolor or grayish dolomite with macrocrystal or fine grain. Stromatolite exposes around Shuiquanzi valley in Qimatag mountain(Fig.1). Shapes of the stromatolites are dominated by nodular, columnar and irregular column with 3-7cm in width. Their typical characteristics was similar to those of Tungussia cf. and Baicalia in the Neoproterozic rocks in Eastern Liaoning Province, Xuhuai Area in Anhui Province, and in Jiawengmen area of eastern Kunlun Mountain. The geological time of the host-rock of stomatolite assemblages in eastern Kunlun is late Mesoproterozoic-early Neoproterozoic, but it has no any isotopic ages in there.
